Relax mete and position gake in a soft way. No need to lock string and fingers.
just focus on the angle of the hand and elbow. Breath and move calmly.
Trust the gake.

Doing this I could do 1-2 second kai and one of 4 seconds. More time in kai in years.

Focus on breath and posture helped me staying in kai for about 1s. Still very short but makes me hopeful.
Focus point: in daisan it feels like the arrow points to the mato in front, not mine.
That should help keeping the arrow perpendicular to the matoba.

In taihai move slower. Movements should be less explosive and more progressive. Descending to kiza slowly leads to a more natural ikasu.

When preparing the written exam for this years shinsa I noticed on thing to try/focus on my next Kyudo practice:

mete moves following a path at one punch of the forehead/head.
Following that path might help me keep mete where it belongs (right shoulder) without overstretch.
That could let me keep kai for a bit longer and prevent my elbow to going slightly down in hanare.

I tried to follow rhe right path of mete, hikiwake was a bit smaller. I think rhat was good but somehow rhr arrows went down.

I kept focusing on breath and thinking more about yunde than mete and I could hold kai for almost 3 seconds.

I need go be careful with my right elbow not falling in hanare. Thinking about my elbow moving towards my back helped.

Next practice I will keep focusing on breathing, yunde and elbow behind.
